Accelerated BSN Programs

If you want to complete your bachelor of science degree in nursing as quick as possible then you may be interested in an accelerated bsn degree program. These accelerated programs basically will allow you to complete a bsn degree in less time then in takes someone to finish a more traditional degree. Remember not all nursing schools offer a bsn program that can be completed in less time. Therefore you will need to check with several different schools of nursing from Universities you are interested in. Also do not rule out online nursing schools to consider. It is recommend that you request information from nearby nursing schools as well as online schools to learn more about the programs they offer. In addition to finding out which schools offer acceleration of their bsn program it is also important to compare costs.

Another important factor to consider is what type of program it is and who it is geared towards?

Someone Who Holds A Bachelors Degree (Not in nursing, ie., not currently a nurse) And Would Like To Transition To A Nursing Career

If you are not currently a nurse but you already have a bachelors degree in another field and now have the desire to be a nurse then should look at some second degree accelerated BSN programs. Keep in mind these types of programs can vary by institution.

For example, the University of Arizona's College of Nursing offers a 2nd degree BSN accelerated pathway program. Since this program is accelerated it can be completed in 14 months. It is specifically designed for those students who hold a non-nursing bachelors degree. Another example is from Samford University's Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing which offers a 15-Month accelerated second degree BSN program. This one is also great towards individuals who have previously earned a baccalaureate degree in something beside a nursing degree. For more information click here.
